Our 15th century barn has been converted into an award winning spacious and comfortable 4 star rated accommodation
The open plan sitting room/dining area has a balcony overlooking it, which is a spacious master mezzanine bedroom with a king-sized bed. There is a second bedroom off the main level, with a double and a single bed.
As well as oil-fired central heating, there is a large feature wood- burning stove. Access to the unit in the barn is by an uneven granite path and patio, up 8 granite steps with railings, and through a low oak entrance door.
There is a Freeview TV and DVD player, CD player and radio, as well as books for adults and children and lots of information about the local area and activities available in Guernsey. The small and well-equipped kitchen has a Belfast sink, granite worktops, and has all modern conveniences including dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, washing machine, and electric hob and oven. The bathroom is a delightful mix of the old fashioned (a cast iron bath) and new (shower and low flush toilet).
We have tried to use environmentally friendly building methods throughout. Recycled materials have been used wherever possible, and lime mortar to repoint the granite to allow the walls to breathe. The roof is insulated with cork, we’ve used non toxic paints. The floors and window sills and some internal doors are made form Guernsey elm.
If you have extra children under 12 we can put up a z-bed in the downstairs bedroom, as well as there being a futon bed upstairs on the mezzanine floor. There is also a proper cot available for babies.
The storage area downstairs houses a freezer and tumble drier, and can be used for bikes and other equipment.

Outside is an enclosed patio, small lawn and barbeque, with shared access to our hot tub.
What our guests have said:
We especially enjoyed the open plan areas and bedroom, hot tub and even music in the bathroom. We have loved the house and the island. We can recommend it to anyone, especially families. Absolutely the nicest place we have ever stayed. The Barn is stylish and so comfortable. Fantastic views. So lucky with the weather.
We loved the cosy atmosphere and Guernsey relatives loved the barn too and will recommend to other visitors. We found the welcome pack, children’s books and toys Particularly helpful for our 2 year old. Would definitely love to return.
Thanks you so much Sue for such a wonderful “Barn” You really thought of everything. It was the perfect start to our married life together. You made our honeymoon even more special. Perfection!
Of all the winter lets in Guernsey we certainly chose the best one to huddle up in between houses. The attention to detail in every aspect of the design and finish is amazing. Quite an achievement and testament to an awful lot of hard work. Well done to the best, coolest landlady we’ve ever met!
A gem of a find. An eco-friendly barn beautifully converted and very comfortable. We had a great week – weather mixed but some lovely days. You have a very special place here, thank you for your hospitality.
Beautiful spring flowers in the lanes. The barn is in a lovely location and we appreciated the groceries when we arrived.
The comfort and warm ambience of this remarkably converted house is second to none. Guernsey has been great- don’t miss Sark. Restaurants we enjoyed L’Auberge, The Pavillion, Fleurs du Jardin.
We explored the islands by cycle, feet, bus and even by ship. Children loved Cobo Beach.
Lovely cosy barn Really enjoyed our stay despite the weather. Lego and books a big hit with our son!
We have been coming to Guernsey for 8 years (sometimes more than once a year) and have stayed at some great places but the barn beats them all. A historic building in a lovely (and quiet!) location- and thoughtful hosts. We ‘ve had a 2 week holiday that feels like a month!
Lovely barn – comfy beds, shutters to keep a 3 year old asleep until 8 am(!) We especially enjoyed Petit Bot Beach and a visit to Sark. Thank you very much!
